Gordon Dean (Senior Partner)

Gordon specialises in litigation, including Employment and Personal Injury Law.
Gordon initially trained as an accountant, working at Lotus Cars and Norwich Union, before studying at the University of East Anglia and Nottingham Trent University. After joining the legal profession he trained at a Norwich City firm and rose to partner level, before founding Gordon Dean Solicitors in early 2005.
As an experienced Personal Injury and General Litigation lawyer, Gordon felt there was a great need for a firm that combined specialisms in claimant employment law and personal injury at work. Gordon’s areas of special interest are ‘Stress at Work’ and ‘Repetitive strain injury’ cases.
Gordon is active in local politics, having been a local councillor and Chairman of the Norwich Liberal Democrats. Gordon is keen to support a Norwich Law Centre and is on the board of Norwich Community Legal Services, which provides free advice in housing and discrimination law. Gordon is also a committee member of the Norfolk and Norwich Law Society and a founding member of Anglian Injury Lawyers, a group of Norfolk law firms committed to raising standards in Personal Injury law. Gordon is also a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA). He is married with two teenage daughters.

Phillip Bazley (Partner)

Phillip is head of the Private Client Department at Gordon Dean solicitors, dealing with Wills, Probate, Power of Attorneys and Inheritance Tax Planning. He also deals with Personal Injury work, including advising clients about how to use trusts to protect their compensation.
Phillip graduated from the University of York, before studying for post graduate diplomas in Law and Legal Practice at the College of Law, York. He trained as a solicitor at a medium sized Norwich firm, qualifying in 2001. After taking a short break in 2005 to travel the world, Phillip Joined Gordon Dean Solicitors as a partner in 2006. Phillip has acted as director and company secretary to a local charity and is also currently a director of a small Property Investment and Development Company. Outside of work, Phillip has succesfully completed the London Marathon, Paris Marathon, Edinburgh Marathon and Wales marathon, raising money for a number of charities in the process.

Neil Austin (Partner)


Neil has 35 years experience in Personal Injury cases and Medical Negligence cases. He is a partner, managing our Great Yarmouth office but willing to see clients at home anywhere.
Amongst Neil’s many strengths is his ability to develop great empathy and trust with his clients, and he will always use every effort to achieve the best possible outcome.Neil approaches every case with the same enthusiasm and determination from minor accidents to high value complicated injury cases. He has successfully completed many cases for accident victims in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft over the past 21 years. In the past few months, Neil has won 2 cases for local clients with total valuations of compensation at £700,000 and £800,000.
Neil is currently working on several fatal accident cases. In recent years he has completed a number of fatal accident cases in Lowestoft, including a number of Mesothelioma and Asbestos compensation claims, and deaths arising from working in confined spaces. Neil has conducted 2 cases which were successfully completed in his clients’ favour in the Court of Appeal. In dealing with every sort of accident at work in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft, Neil has considerable knowledge and experience of work related upper limb disorders, including Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and other RSI injury. Neil supports and is involved at a number of local animal rescue centres and The Stroke Association. He is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, dedicated to fighting for injured members of the public.

Natalie Shalders (Solicitor)

Natalie began working at Gordon Dean Solicitors as a work experience student whilst studying at the University of Sheffield for her Law Degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (which she passed with Distinction).
Natalie joined Gordon Dean Solicitors as a trainee solicitor in September 2009 and qualified as a solicitor in 2011. Since qualifying Natalie has specialised in litigation work, including Personal Injury and Employment Law.
